Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable surface with adequate ventilation.

  1. Connect power supply: Use heavy gauge wire to 13.8V DC source, observing polarity.
  2. Connect antenna: Use coaxial cable to ANT connector; ensure proper impedance matching.
  3. Connect microphone: Use compatible microphone to MIC connector.
  4. Connect accessories: Optional external speakers, keyers, or computer interfaces.
  5. Grounding: Connect chassis ground for safety and noise reduction.

WARNING! Ensure proper ventilation; do not block cooling vents. Use appropriate fusing.

First-Time Setup

Power on transceiver; initialize settings.

  1. Set operating frequency: Use main tuning dial or keypad entry.
  2. Select mode: Choose SSB, CW, AM, or FM as required.
  3. Adjust audio: Set AF gain and speaker volume.
  4. Configure filters: Select appropriate IF filter for current mode.
  5. Set RF power: Adjust output power for current operation.
  6. Program memories: Store frequently used frequencies and settings.

CAUTION! Verify antenna connection before transmitting. Start with low power.
